Spain makes history as the first international team to ever win three major titles in a row (Eurocup 2008, World Cup 2010, Eurocup 2012). Spain scored twice in the first half to take an early lead (Silva 14', Jordi Alba 41'). Italy's Mario Balotelli couldn't stand up to Spain's excellent defense, headed by Gerard Pique and goalkeeper Iker Casillas. In the final 20 minutes of the game, goals by Torres and Mata closed out the victory. This win confirmed them as the greatest team in football history.
